Conversations with Leaders about Nonprofit Communications

Nonprofits in our region are facing enormous challenges. Donor relationships are harder to build, community needs keep growing, and teams are stretched thin. For those making it all happen, these pressures are a daily reality.

The Listening Lab at 84 Agency was created to connect with nonprofit leaders and hear directly about what’s working, what’s not, and what needs to change. This isn’t about advice or consultation. It’s about listening to the people who know these challenges better than anyone.

For years, we have partnered with nonprofits and mission-driven organizations to amplify their voices and create meaningful change. The experience of navigating shifting donor expectations, increasing community needs, and constant team pressures is something shared across the sector.

Right now, we’re scheduling conversations and are extending open invitations to anyone doing nonprofit work. If you’ve got insights, we want to hear them!

  • Participants’ answers will stay anonymous and will be aggregated into a free report highlighting trends and ideas that may help strengthen nonprofits across the region. Participating organizations will also get early access to the results.

    An hour-long conversation might feel like the last thing any nonprofit leader needs, and that’s understandable. But saying yes can make an impact, and we want to recognize that effort. A $60 donation will be made to participating organizations in exchange for a 60 minute conversation.

  • Conversations are scheduled as meetings over the phone or in-person within proximity to Charleston, WV.
