The West Virginia Children’s Home Society Branding and Website Development

All children deserve a home, a family to love them, and to feel that they belong.

The Children’s Home Society has been working to achieve that mission since 1986, but, in recent years, they’ve faced a new set of challenges: the rising need for foster and adoptive parents in West Virginia and a technological shift that has taken the process of finding and educating potential parents online.

They needed a new website that would effectively center their values and share their story and immense history.

Our team developed a website and messaging materials that showcase their more than 120 years of work, while also streamlining the user experience in order to more easily meet the needs of prospective foster and adoptive families.

The results were transformational and award-winning. In 2021, CHS’ new website was recognized with an Honorable Mention Crystal Award from PRSA-WV.

CHS staff members expressed that the website has been and continues to be an indispensable tool in cultivating support for the mission of the society.

“Website traffic has increased substantially, along with inquiries about our programs, which we attributed to the updated content and layout of the website. In particular, inquiries about becoming a foster/adoptive parent have increased by over 25%, and the rate of in-kind donations made to the society has risen since the launch as well.”
