Signs of an Opioid Overdose flyer

Kanawha-Charleston Health Department Save a Life Day Marketing

For the past two years, the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department—in partnership with organizations from multiple West Virginia counties—has funded a community event called “Save a Life Day” with the objective of mass distributing naloxone (a substance that can reverse an opioid-induced overdose) for free.

The event is a day of hope and an opportunity to break down stigmas around substance use disorder.

The event organizer reached out to 84 Agency in 2020 because he knew that we were capable of providing the creative solutions and supportive project management necessary to help their large and varied coalition meet the challenges of organizing a successful event.

We aided the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department in building and expanding the “Save a Life Day” brand, designed compelling promotional materials, and managed the large-scale printing needs of the event while adhering to the modest project budget.

The event’s impact has motivated other health departments and service providers to start their own “Save a Live Day” efforts across the state.

Through “Save a Life Day,” thousands of magnets, brochures, stickers, t-shirts, drawstring bags, and, most importantly, more than 2,000 naloxone kits, have been distributed to people in Kanawha and Putnam Counties—most certainly resulting in numerous lives saved.

Print Materials

Certificates for completing Naloxone training, magnets with the signs of an overdose, stickers, and flyers were all distributed. We even created stickers for Naloxone boxes that allowed recipients to honor someone in their life that was a victim of an opioid overdose.

“The team and 84 Agency were the creative masterminds behind Kanawha & Putnam’s free naloxone day. 84 Agency developed the designs across social media, including templates, and for swag as well as project managed the ordering of swag for us. Hiring 84 Agency was really what helped our day of action take flight.”

- Joe Solomon, the lead organizer of Save a Life Day

This 8.5” x 11” folding flyer with information on the signs of an opioid overdose and contact numbers for seeking treatment was distributed at Save a Life Day.
